~ It has been ten years. Ten years. Ten years to this day and less than two hours that   our country was attacked. And yet, the wounds are as fresh as if they were cut into us this morning. As if the towers still stood burning. As if we could still see and smell the smoke and dust. The pain lingers on deep inside, the sadness never forsakes, the fear is slow to subside, and the anger burns us. You took 2,977 from us, but you have not taken our country. Though the towers fell before us, we still stand tall above you. And you, you delusional, misguided fool, you lie in the waters, you are done. You are finished. But we have just begun. As another tower rises from the ashes, like a phoenix, standing tall. We will not be broken. May all of the spirits rest peacefully, you are never forgotten. We remember you, you were American. ~

Where were you when the attacks took place? Who are you remembering? What effect does this have on you today, ten years later?

I was nine years old, at home, doing my schooling. The images on the television that morning were horrifying. I remember the sadness that I felt. I remember how angry I was, how I just wanted those responsible to be punished.

Today, it still hurts me. I get tears in my eyes, and a lump in my throat. I can barely stand to watch the images on TV. It still hurts too much. It still makes me angry that someone could hurt so many people, tear apart so many families.

My love to all those remembering loved ones today, and all days. My love to all those who lost fellow Americans. My love to all of you today.

Please, take a moment of silence to remember the ones who are no longer with us in the physical sense. You were all great Americans, missed, but never forgotten.
